Book Review
This is my book review on The Silver Sword.
My favorite part in the book was when the children found their parents. I didn't really like it when the children had to go on the bus with a crazy man because I was afraid that he was going to hurt them in someway. The author of the book is Ian Serraillier, he is a great writer. The Silver Sword was based on the World War 2 in Germany and Poland. The main characters in the Silver Sword are: Jan, Ruth, Bronia, Edek and their father.
While I was reading the book I felt sad because I felt really sorry for the characters, especially when they found out they no longer had parents. Then the author made the story line funny by putting in a chimpazee, the chimpanzee was running crazy round the train station.
The author used a rhetorical question (page 3) "How he longed to see them again?" to make you curious about who he longed to see his family/Friends- who? Here is a phrase "Its no use you trying to pick my pocket." I think the writer used a phrase to caught the reader attention; make you think who is picking pockets?
